| Offered is a really great pair of BW 803's, dont see these as often as the smaller 804's, in comparison these are a *massive* upgrade if you want a thunderous bass presentation. These present significantly different than the smaller 804's. The cabinets are internally fully braced in a honey comb, dont see many designs like the Matrix series, B&W was always on the cutting edge of innovation with their take on loud speaker design. Id rate these black ash cabinets cosmetically at maybe 7/10 but thats all fairly subjective. At around 30 years old, these have seen a couple moves and have some marks and indentations which I have tried to show in photographs, please look closely. I had these displayed in my living room shared with a picky wife and they looked great and received no complaints from the boss. The grills are immaculate. Nice pair of vintage 1990's B&W that show some use but look nice. Electronically, all the drivers, especially including both tweeters, are working 100 % and the cabs are free of rattle or noise or anything to detract from the imaging these are capable of. The speakers are 100% stock with no modifications. If you are a big B&W fan or curious about the brand I would recommend this particular model as a cornerstone peak in design for them from a much different era, Matrix series was always a personal favorite. |
